Our planned route takes us past Bayberry Pond\, through the tunnel on the Lime Ridge Trail\, and along the Ohlone and Blue Oak Trails. \nCome curious\, bring your questions\, and enjoy a morning discovering the natural treasures of Lime Ridge! \nWhat to bring: Good walking shoes\, water\, sunscreen\, binoculars if you have any. \nNOTE: Space is limited to the first 10 participants. SUMMARY:Scorpion Hike
DESCRIPTION:The hike is a night hike during which we will be using ultraviolet flashlights to attempt to find scorpions which fluoresce brightly under UV. The hike is about two miles long and will take about two hours to complete. \n\nWhat to bring with you: \n\nA sweater or sweatshirt\, light jacket\, or windbreaker for comfort. After the sun goes down\, the temperature will drop.\nA camera or Smart Phone with a camera if you would like to take photos of any scorpions we may find along the way.\nIf you have an ultraviolet (UV) flashlight\, please bring it along with you. We will have a small number of them available to loan to people who need them\, however.\nA small flashlight or headlamp for the way back.\n\nThis hike will be limited to the first 10 who register.  To register\, please send your request to Kime Smith before midnight Friday\, October 23rd!
