Terms and Conditions

1. All grant submittal applications will become the sole property of the WCOSF

2. You agree to work with WCOSF Board members and volunteers regarding project location and coordination and provide WCOSF with quarterly status updates

3. You will submit raw data at the end of the data collection phase. If project requires more than one year of data collection, data will be provided at end of data collection each year.

A copy of your final report (i,e. senior project, thesis or dissertation) must be submitted to WCOSF Board. Those projects that have followed these terms and conditions will receive the 20% funding remainder upon submittal of the final report

Grant Applications must use 12 pt font with 1 inch margins. Limit submittal to two pages total in pdf format.

All applications need to include the following:

-Full name of applicant
-Name of academic institution that the applicant attends
-Name of faculty member/advisor for applicant’s project
-A short letter or email from the faculty member confirming your topic and study with them.
-Indicate whether you are the only investigator in the study or if your study is part of a larger or long-term investigation.
-Title of study
-State what type of study; i,e. senior project, master’s thesis, dissertation.
-Synopsis of the study including hypothesis and goals, methods for data collection and analysis and anticipated final product.
-Parameters of study: Where will it take place, when, how long will it take. What is your estimated date of project completion for data collection and total project?
-How your education and experience has prepared you to undertake the study.
-How study will benefit the WC Open Space and supports the mission of the WCOSF.
-How do you plan to give your data to the WCOSF?
-Budget--not required but should be submitted if applicable.
-Signature confirming truth of application and your agreement with the above terms and conditions

Grant Approval Pathway

Grant applications submitted by September 30 of each year

Grant applications reviewed by committee during October

Committee chooses applicants and agrees on grant funding amounts

Applications chosen by committee passed along to the City for review and approval

Approved applicants are notified and City project review forms are provided to applicants

Those approved applicants who return the City forms are formally approved by Board including funding level at the November Board meeting

Grant recipients receive 80% funding

Recipients work with WCOSF on project location and coordination

Recipients provide WCOSF with quarterly status updates

At completion of data collection, recipients provide raw data to WCOSF

At completion of study, recipients provide WCOSF with report

Recipients may, instead, opt to present their results at a meeting to which we invite our members and the public

Recipients receive remaining 20% funds from WCOSF
